Aalok Patel, MD

Dr. Aalok Patel is an Interventional Cardiologist who specializes in Complex Coronary, Endovascular, and Structural Heart Disease Interventions. He is a native of South Carolina who has trained at premier institutions across the country including Emory University, Mayo Clinic-Minnesota, and most recently at the Scripps Clinic where he completed a combined advanced 2 year fellowship encompassing Complex Coronary, Endovascular, andStructural Heart Disease Interventions. During his fellowship, he was a sub investigator on many Structural Heart disease trials. He has written multiple book chapters and has presented many times at national cardiology conferences.

As a Structural heart specialist he performs complex procedures including TAVR, Mitraclip, ASD closures, PFO closures, Perivalvular leak closures, and Alcohol Septal Ablation in patients with HOCM. He also has a keen interest in Left Atrial Appendage Closure including Watchman device in patients who are unable to tolerate blood thinners. Furthemore, he performs many complex coronary interventions include Chronic Total Occlusions.

In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and watching both college and professional football.
